My Work with Jim Rooney
For years, Jim Rooney and I have been in meaningful conversation about humanity, belonging, and equity, and how sport can build bridges and strengthen society.
What began as a few brief conversations about the impact of the NFL’s Rooney Rule, which carries Jim’s family name, developed into a friendship and speaking partnership that has allowed us the opportunity to explore the power of sport with Fortune 500 executives and university communities throughout the nation.
Coming from very different backgrounds – one a co-owner of an NFL team and organizational behavior expert; the other an activist academic and lawyer – Jim and I lead honest and sometimes difficult conversations about the barriers that divide us as a society and the lessons from sport that can help bring us together.
